I spent my early years in photography with my brother, Gary Edward Adams, photographing and associating with some of the biggest names in landscape photography. Large and medium format photography were their systems of choice, but I found myself running with a 35mm Nikon. It took great discipline and patience to master the larger formats and I was just too excited by the incredible scenery and ever changing light to sit still that long.

I owned a home in Utah, on the banks of the Virgin River, surrounded by Zion National Park, and another in the Pinon Pine covered hills of New Mexico, a few miles east of Santa Fe, heading towards the Pecos River. I choose these two locations because they defined the Southwest and offered ultimate jumping off points to the region.

I have traveled and photographed the Southwest for many years and know the area well. My life has been dedicated to climbing, photographing, and traveling this vast territory. I have led trips from Santa Fe to the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park to Zion, Zuni Pueblo to Chaco Canyon, Monument Valley to Death Valley, and points in between.

If you are planning a trip to any part of the Southwest feel free to contact me for help. If you want me to plan your trip and/or take you there that can be arranged, too.

Looking for a photographic workshop experience with people who've been there and respect your desire to learn and explore? Drop me a line, I can do that, too.
