He founded Miami-based jewelry and accessories label Miansai while he was a university student and has grown the company into a renowned success story. All Miansai designs are meticulously crafted from the highest quality materials, including fine Italian leathers, pure precious metals and custom-made marine-grade ropes — obsessing over every detail along the way. Miansai is sold around the world in 40 U.S. states and 36 countries, including at the brand’s flagship store in New York City’s Soho neighborhood, Venice Beach and online. Michael has also integrated philanthropy into his work through his wife’s non-profit organization, Style Saves, a 501(c)3non-profit organization that raises funds to allocate to underprivileged students. Beyond its thoughtful design and gender-fluid pieces, Miansai stands out from other jewelry and accessories brands with its brand collaborations.

Recently, Miansai secured a partnership with Virgin Voyages, which includes a standalone boutique aboard the cruise line’s newest ship, Valiant Lady. Designed by Michael, the storefront features sleek, streamlined architecture and contrasting woods and metals that unite to highlight Miansai’s elevated products. In addition, Miansai has unique retail spaces in the form of its mobile fleet, including pop-ups in its Airstream trailers and vintage Piaggio, Fiat and Lambretta vehicles. Shopping inside one of these highly stylized automobiles-turned-stores has given the Miansai customer a different way to experience the brand, and it’s also allowed the company to meet new buyers in a more authentic and less traditional manner. Michael spends the year traveling the world for design inspiration, living a nomadic lifestyle while still running the successful brand, and inspiring others to explore, discover and embrace the beauty of elevated aesthetics.
