Michael Durkin

Hello, my name is Michael Durkin, I'm an 18 year old student and I am from Franklin MA. I lived in Franklin up until my arrival at Wentworth, where I now study Business Management. Life in Franklin was simple and hectic at the same time for it is quite a large town. It didn't take me long to realize that living in a big town meant that I had to stand out if in order to succeed. Whether it was trying out for a sports team or just trying exceed personal goals, best efforts were required. It was not easy, however I managed to keep up. I got involved in my highschool by joing clubs such as mock trial, drama club, community service club and I even managed to organize the school's first ultimate frisbee club.

I always had the desire to live in the city and Wentworth is a beautiful location. Between my studies and work, I enjoy walking through the city. There is something about the urban culture that I find interesting so I am always out exploring and rarely in my dorm room. I will go to shows such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, spend a day at the Museum of Fine Arts, and hunt the city for new food. I have worked in the restaraunt business my entire life, gaining essential knowledge on how a successful business runs. I hope that my hard work will get me employed in the great city of Boston within the next few years. Although I am not entirely sure what I want to do, I want to experience working in the business world to find out. Also, I have a large list of innovative ideas that I would love to make a reality and I hope to do so during my time with Wentworth's valuable resources.
