Michael Encarnacion
I am a third generation self-thought musician that realized at a very young age that music would not only be a hobby but a career. At the age of 17 I began playing around my grandmother's piano one note at a time, eventually getting the feel for basic chords and melody patterns. Over time my skills developed and I eventually got a spot in my uncle's local salsa band. Through trial and error I began playing with various groups throughout the territory.
As a musician, I've had the opportunity to showcase my skills in Fajardo, PR, Bayside Miami and Manhattan, NY. The experience I acquired from these ventures only strengthened my passion for music even more. Initially, my goal was to take my skills to a professional level, with plans on attending a Music Conservatory or University that would teach me the neccessary skills that would improve my reading and overall performance level.
Nevertheless, that goal was put on hold after realizing that I would be able to make a bigger impact in the industry by learning the business side of music. That goal became a reality on August 29, 2009 when I embarked on my journey with Full Sail University. At Full Sail I learned about the major functions of a record label and the essentials of promoting, marketing and establishing an artist into a brand. My knowledge as a musician combined with the education from Full Sail will help me to pursue my dream, live my dream and fullfill my goals.
