Dr. Michael Formenius

Dr. Michael Formenius is an internationally acclaimed cosmetic dentist & one of the most published exemplars in dental media. An expert in all facets of Dentistry with over 30 years of private practice, Dr. Michael is an authority among his peers when it comes to cosmetic, restorative and laser assisted cosmetic dentistry.

He graduated from the Royal Dental College, Karolinska Institute, in 1982 and went on to building the first of his many private practices in Stockholm in the same year. He then established a private dental laboratory, and pioneered the brand 'Dr. Michael's – Your Reason to Smile' with the top 15 dentists and 7 dental technicians in Sweden.

Under world renowned Dr. Larry Rosenthal & Dr. Michael Apa, he graduated with a Masters of Excellence in Facial Aesthetic Design from the prestigious Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry (NY).

After more than 14 years of distinguished practice in Stockholm, he brought his expertise to the UAE. In 1996, he founded Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic in Dubai together with his wife Dr. Christina. His brainchild has now grown into three multispecialty state-of-the-art dental centers with 18 dental specialists, 5 dental hygienists & several support staff.

With his relentless passion for advancements in dentistry, Dr. Michael brought the first Mobile Dental Clinic in the region. He leads a team that provides over 20,000 children in Dubai with oral health education & preventive services. This program is wholly sponsored by Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic, free of charge to participating schoolchildren, teachers & parents.

Dr. Michael is deeply committed to staying on the leading edge of dental technology and therefore considers postgraduate education and hands-on training top of his priority.

He holds active professional memberships in the Swedish Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Emirates Medical Association.

Dr. Michael was the Dental Consultant for Oral-B Crest Middle East, 2011.

A Rotarian since 1993, he lives by the principle 'Service above Self', and has worked tremendously in giving back to the community.
