“The only one holding you back is yourself”. Having a pessimistic mindset growing up never really helped me. It held me back in my progress for quite some time 'til I decided to stop comparing myself to others and start pushing myself to get past each limit.
I started simple and humble, a church musician trying his best to create wonderful music for God, which then opened doors of opportunity and offered a new perspective of how my life would turn out. Starting out as someone who is self taught, who then took his chances and to get further in depth studies with regards to music. Now taking a Music Education program at the University of Santo Tomas, I have played and is a session musician for various indie artists and bands. I am current member of the UST Wind Orchestra and the Thomasian Trombone Choir. I am also a trombonist for a psychedelic-rock band called ‘The Indolent Movement’. Although I consider myself as a trombonist, I also am capable and do play other instruments on the side, helping and filling out for instruments for the bands I play with, both professionally and non-professionally.
Music is that one thing that we cannot live without yet we don't see it as a necessity. For this reason, I see music education as an avenue for me to help change perspective of society on music. To show how intricate and well detailed the simple tunes that people hear on a daily basis.
