I am an assistant professor of literacy education at Northern Illinois University. My research interests include disciplinary literacy, multimodality, student comprehension of multiple texts, and literacy coaching. I am a former High School History Teacher and literacy coach. I earned my BA from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and my MEd and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
