An experienced Law Enforcement Professional, Michael Martinsen spent more than 20 years serving residents of Ohio. From 1990 to 2006, he served in leadership and training roles in the Hamilton Police Department, including as Criminal Investigator and Riot Response Team Commander.Michael Martinsen was awarded a"Key to the City"by the City of Hamilton, Ohio, for Team Leadership and Community Service Excellence. Michael was also honored for his Collaborative Leadership & Community Service by the Ohio Senate who awarded Michael the Ohio Senate's Leadership Award.
Beyond his leadership in Butler County, Michael Martinsen founded the Rickshaw Run Events, where he motivated citizens from Canada to Cincinnati to raise money for courageous children suffering from life threatening illnesses.
Michael Martinsen was honored by the USA Olympic Committee to serve as an official Olympic Torch Bearer. He gives credit and attributes the events success to the hard work and determination of the community and business leaders who joined forces for the worthy cause.
Before accepting a challenging leadership and investigative role in Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Martinsen proudly served as Chief of Police, where he was nominated for Wright State University's, President's Excellence in Service Award in 2010 and again in 2011. He was also awarded the Miami Valley Crime Association's "Team Player Award" for his collaborative leadership.
Michael also proudly served as the Chief of Police at Ohio University from 2006 to 2008, during which time he implemented hostage negotiations, sexual assault units, and a swat team.
Martinsen holds a Bachelor Degree in Public Safety Administration from Ohio University, and a Masters Degree in Strategic Communications from Seton Hall University. Michael also graduated from Northwestern University's Police Staff and Command School and the Ohio State Highway Patrol's SWAT School.
