I'm a server-side java developer working for mailonline at the moment. I'm a graduate of Maynooth NUI. I have a B.Sc. in Experimental Physics and Maths and a M.Sc. in Radio Astronomy.

I'm a self-taught programmer. I usually code in C, C++ or Java but I'm pretty intrigued by the built-in concurrency in functional programming languages such as Scala right now.

I've worked with a number of software houses (including Riverdeep, Curam), robots (MVT, Xsil) telcos (EDB 4-Tel, ArranTech), security software firms (SAGEM Sécurité) and have been at mailonline since September 2010. I'm from Waterford, Ireland and am currently living in London, UK.
