A friend of mine once explained what he saw to be the difference between a nerd and a geek. Both have a wealth of knowledge, but the latter can actually demonstrate them by practical application. Simply put, geeks can get things done. Nerds may not. I'm a tech geek - I love to work on and with computers, smartphones, electronics, and much more, and I enjoy helping others to best utilize the capabilities of their technology. I've worked in numerous environments, from corporate-level HIPAA-complaint networks and servers to homes and schools, performing functions such as virus removal and basic installation and setup to advanced troubleshooting and repair. I presently work primarily as a contractor for the VA Medical Centers in my area with the Blind Rehabilitation Centers, training and assisting visually disabled veterans with various forms of technology.
TL;DR - This is one geek that goes above and beyond to ensure that things get done, and get done right.
