Michael Cadigan

Gainesville, Florida

Michael is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Telecommunication-News, with minors in History and Buisness Admininistration. Cadigan grew up in a household where some kind of sport was always on the television. His parents often caught him doing his own play-by-play and color commentary while he was playing sport video games. Even as the years went on, his love for sports has only grown stronger with the ultimate goal of one day becoming a sports broadcaster.

Cadigan currently is a sports anchor for WUFT News (a PBS affiliate), where he has also served as a sports and news reporter. He has had experience shooting Gator athletics including basketball, baseball, gymnastics, and lacrosse.

Cadigan also has experience working for ESPN Radio 850-WRUF. He has served as a the beat reporter for Gator Football and Gator Baseball, covering games, media availabilities, and web stories. In addition to his beat responsibilities, he also writes and produces two minute local sports updates during the stations show. He is also a regular co-host on the Cheap Seats, a student run sports talk show.

Cadigan plans to graduate from the University of Florida in December 2014 and is actively looking for internship opportunities, where he can further develop his skills as a sports broadcaster.
