Cvitkovic (pronounced SVIT-ko-vich) is an internationally accredited and award-winning executive possessing extensive management experience in corporate communications, crisis management, facility planning, media relations, strategic planning, government relations, human resources, speech writing, social media and broadcast. A highly motivated team builder with a proven track record of successfully positioning global brands and its senior executives. Ethical and results-oriented with exceptional presentation skills.
Currently, Cvitkovic owns a private management and communications consulting practice, empowering organizations to improve its governance structure, while providing policy reform, communication plans, facility advocacy, marketing strategies, issues management, human resources and government relations leadership. Having a passion for academics and sport, Cvitkovic provides guidance to Durham College as a member of the Sport Management Curriculum Advisory Committee and sits as a board member of Sport Alliance Ontario, including chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee.
He served as executive director of Ontario Basketball, successfully negotiating a 20-year facility partnership with Abilities Centre, creating a provincial training centre, while overseeing the complete construction of the new head office. Cvitkovic forged new partnerships with multiple international brands and leveraged the untapped assets of the organization. During his tenure, Team Ontario captured 11 of a potential 12 national championships.
Cvitkovic spent five years as director of communications and media relations for Tennis Canada and Rogers Cup Toronto - the world-renown ATP and WTA events. He served as press chief for the Canadian Paralympic Committee at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cvitkovic was a member of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club media relations team for six seasons, which included public relations work at the 2005 NBA All-Star Game. Prior to his time in pro sports, Cvitkovic served as sport and recreation information officer at York University.
He was the tennis TV analyst and blogger for CBC Sports at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and former co-host of Aces, the first tennis-dedicated radio program on Sportsnet FAN 590.
