Michael Forman (Vocal Coach/Pianist, Musical Director, Composer/Lyricist/Librettist) has worked for many theatre organizations including Playwrights Horizons (as assistant to Ira Weitzman producer of Sunday In The Park With George, Into The Woods, Assassins, Once On This Island, My Favorite Year, Falsettos, Floyd Collins, The Light In The Piazza), The American Stage, The Actor’s Playhouse, The Mint Theatre, Musical Theatre Works, Seven Angels Theatre, The Vineyard Theatre, The National American Asian Theatre Company and The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.
As an Instructor (private, clasroom, master class), Vocal Coach, and/or Pianist for the theatre programs at: Yale School of Drama (Graduate Program), Fordham University at Lincoln Center, University of California at Irvine, New York University (Steinhart) and AMDA. He currently works as a private coach in New York City where he proudly has the responsibility of grooming many of New York's finest and top Broadway Musical Theatre professionals for auditions and stage performance.
He has worked with many Tony award nominated and winning composers/lyricists including: William Finn, Adam Guettal, Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, Keith Herrmann and Barry Harmon. He has been educated at Mannes College of Music, The New School, Arizona State University and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He is also presently at work as Composer/Lyricist on a few new projects in development.
