Michael Hawkes

As a marketing communications professional I have solid experience crafting and carrying out communications, advertising and public relations strategies. Public relations and marketing are constantly evolving so I like to think of myself as a professional student because every experience is an opportunity to learn something new.

I am currently employed by Gibney, Anthony & Flaherty, LLP, a full service law firm with offices in New York and San Francisco, where I serve as a Communications Specialist. I am responsible for creating marketing communications plans and for serving as liaison between various firm practice groups to coordinate marketing efforts & messaging and ensure brand consistency throughout our marketing materials. I maintain the firm's website and manage our email marketing efforts. I also am responsible for the firm's graphic design work including Word and PowerPoint templates, marketing letterhead, firm brochures, and other materials as needed.

My first job out of college was as an Account Executive at RLM Public Relations. While at RLM I handled a case load of about 5 clients at any given time successfully pitching local and national media outlets, drafting deliverables, conducting media training, producing and maintaining media lists and providing administrative support as necessary.

During college I organized events for World AIDS Day to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS. We worked to bring together Boston-area colleges and universities with community leaders to reach as many people as possible.

I am versed in HTML/CSS and Dreamweaver web design as well as print and multimedia design via the Adobe Creative Suite. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Cision, ProLaw and both Windows and Mac operating systems.
