Only Human! in the United Kingdom
Books, books, everywhere around me.
Mostly Northern English & Scottish: Yorkshire, Lancashire, Highlander, Welsh Marches (Mostly an area once known as Magonsaet or Westerna back in Anglo-Saxon times) & Norfolk.
Probably some Border Scots & Irish ancestry back in 17th century among the Yorkshire & Lancashire Ancestry, signs of bits of ancestry from Netherlands & Southern Scandinavia in Yorkshire & Norfolk bits probably mostly relating to the Danelaw, but also some evidently into the later Middle Ages and possibly as late as the end of the reign of King George III at the end of his son George, Prince of Wales time as Regent (unlike in USA, where the President is carted off to the loony bin eventually and replaced by a new President under 25th Amendment - well, that's the theory anway, but I digress!) which roughly corresponds with the beginning of the end of the Industrial Revolution ie maybe as late as 1820.
Going back into ancient times from when the glaciers melted through to the Middle Ages, it appears overwhelmingly a mix of Gael, Brythonic, Germanic, Norse-Gael (from the Kingdom of the Isles), Pictish, probably bits of ancestry from Roman Empire & Doggerland, proportions don't mean much, percentages don't really match what are abstract concepts of ethnicity mixing genetics, family & external influences, chaos has a huge effect.
Family consists of Presbyterians, Methodists, Calvinistic Baptists, Anglicans, Puritanical Positivists, Agnostics, the generally apathetic and even some people claiming to be lunatics (Presumably they worship the moon).
None of those 12 foot lizards that David Icke keeps going on about though!
I think it's been a long time since anyone in the family used a longship or carried a sword. These days you can mostly get to the supermarket on foot and without having to battle there.
And the ultimate origins :-
