Michael Amin is the CEO and founder of the Los Angeles-based company, Primex World Inc. In 1976 at the age of 17, he moved to the United States to pursue his post-secondary education. First studying business administration at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, Michael then transferred to Cal State Northridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.
An experienced entrepreneur and businessman, Michael Amin’s career has been marked by a number of distinct chapters. Upon graduating from Cal State Northridge, Michael assisted in the management of his family’s 23-unit Los Angeles apartment complex, which was then later sold. Following this, Michael founded QuickPix, one of the first one-hour film development companies in the country. Soon after, he would also create the businesses Primex Talking Yellow Pages and Top Attorneys Directory.
In 1988, he embraced the long-held family business, becoming a 4th generation pistachio farmer. In order to consolidate and grow his pistachio orchards, he also founded Primex World Inc. That entity would later evolve into an investment company with wider concerns, branching out into a broader range of agricultural and real estate holdings, as well as other equities.
In addition to his professional experience, Michael is very active philanthropically and considers giving back to the community a moral imperative, as well as a cornerstone of his personal philosophy. He founded Maximum Difference Foundation (MDF), a non-profit organization that supports and orchestrates his various charitable efforts, in 2004. MDF is especially focused on motivating parents to educate themselves in the art and science of good parenting, although it also partners with ten to twenty other carefully selected non-profit organizations each year, a list that includes the National MS Society, Doctors Without Borders, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, among other well-known humanitarian and environmental organizations.
