I was born with Cerebral Palsy on October 15, 1993. I however have not let my disability hinder my life. I went to Philmont Scout Ranch for an 86 mile backpacking trip with rough terrain and elevation changes and I was in Marching Band for 3 years. Even though I couldn’t march the way everybody else could, I found a marching technique that would appear from a distance that I was marching the same as everybody else. I have been on several mission trips, I have worked hard in school, and I have had a job at Marble Slab. I went to Paschal High School and graduated on May 31, 2012. Then, I attended Tarrant County College in August 2012. On all of my mission trips, I worked hard to serve other people and show them that I cared about them and loved them. In high school I worked hard to maintain a GPA of 4.75 out of 5.00 Even after my car wreck. I worked at Marble Slab during my junior year. I have a permanent traumatic brain injury from a nearly fatal car accident I was in on November 7, 2010 while I was driving to choir rehearsal. Luckily, I was the only person in the car when a truck pulling a horse trailer drove right through my driver’s door. The wreck knocked me unconscious for 22 days, caused several ribs to break, caused my pelvis to fracture, and caused my brain to suffer several rips and a traumatic brain injury. Because of my traumatic brain injury, I was in the hospital and out-patient rehabilitation for five months. When I got released, I did homebound schooling for six weeks and had to push myself to the limit in order to do two “six weeks” grading periods simultaneously and be able to graduate this year rather than wait another year. When I did that, I had to greatly limit my social time to focus on my school work, but it was worth it. Before the wreck, I was ranked number 10 in my class at the end of my sophomore class with my GPA being 4.7586, and now I am ranked number 40 out of 558 with a GPA of 4.75. Even though my class rank fell a little bit, I am still very pleased that I still graduated in the top 10% of my graduating class! I believe that God created us, in a perfect paradise without sin. I believe that the first humans, Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Because of this, God declared that the punishment for Sin is death. In the Bible, Death is considered eternal separation from God. Which is worse than any day we will ever have on Earth. On Earth God is always present.
