Michael Bloom
Registered Nurse in New York, New York
Hi, I’m Michael Bloom. I’m a registered nurse with a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated summa cum laude with a minor in Hispanic Studies. My passion lies in whole-person care—really seeing patients as individuals, not just as diagnoses. I believe in treating the body, yes, but also supporting the emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects of healing.
I grew up in North Jersey, where I was involved in high school theater, sailing on the lake near my home, and taking photos everywhere I went. That love for storytelling and observation has stayed with me—I think it makes me a more present and compassionate caregiver.
During college, I worked as a teaching assistant in anatomy and physiology and served coffee at Saxbys, which taught me a ton about time management and people. I also got involved in public health outreach—specifically training students to use Narcan, which opened my eyes to the importance of harm reduction and meeting people where they are.
These days, I’m navigating some challenges in my career due to my internet presence, but I’ve launched a personal site to share my experiences, offer advice, and hopefully help the next generation of healthcare professionals feel less alone. I still love reading, photography, and getting together with friends for card games. At the end of the day, I’m someone who cares deeply about people and believes that healing is as much about connection as it is about medicine.
