Michael Bradley Matvieshen
entrepreneur and sustainable farming in Kelowna, BC, Canada
I’m Michael Bradley Matvieshen, a Canadian entrepreneur, designer, and community-minded innovator based in Kelowna, British Columbia. I was born and raised on a farm, and that early connection to the land shaped how I think about sustainability, self-reliance, and service. While I studied math at Mission College, I quickly realized that my path would be built through hands-on work, not traditional education. I’ve been building ever since.
My career has taken me across industries and continents—from co-developing the first Chevy Volt charging system in a joint venture with General Motors, to installing solar-powered EV infrastructure at GM’s Asian headquarters in Shanghai. I’ve designed and built passive solar greenhouses that drastically cut energy costs, and led construction and solar projects that now employ more than 100 people.
But for me, success isn’t just about what you build—it’s about why you build it. I founded a food business that has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in high-quality, farm-grown products to food banks across the Okanagan Valley. In 2024, we were proud to be recognized by the City of Kelowna as the “Best Farm Store”—a reflection of our commitment to nourishing our community, not just feeding it.
At the core of everything I do are my values: family, faith, tenacity, and intentionality. I believe in surrounding myself with talented, principled people who’ve walked through real challenges and come out stronger. I take pride in creating teams where wisdom is shared, integrity is practiced, and success is something we experience together.
This isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. I’ve always believed that if you can live your vision for life, and do it with purpose, it doesn’t get better than that.
