Michael Cheng

Michael is an applied drama practitioner and educator, with a fervent belief in the power of theatre for empowerment, social change and personal development.

An experienced facilitator and artist-educator, he has worked with diverse populations such as young children, people with special needs, married couples, people with HIV, and people-at-risk. As an adjunct lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic, Michael also teaches applied drama modules to teens and adults.

He is the Artistic Director of Tapestry Playback Theatre, a theatre company that uses Playback Theatre as a transformational tool in community. He currently serves as the Chair of the Centre for Playback Theatre's Board of Directors. He is an Accredited Playback Theatre Trainer (APTT), and is a Practitioner member of the International Playback Theatre Network (ITPN).

He is an authorized Guide and Accredited Trainer of The Listening Hour (www.listeninghour.org).
