Michael Chin Worcester began his medical career when studying at the University of Virginia. After graduating from Virginia in 2002, Michael continued his education at Tufts University's post-baccalaureate premedical program. His time spent at Tufts allowed him to obtain the credits necessarily for medical school. Michael began medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in 2004.
During his time in medical school, Michael Chin held a variety of research positions, including Baystate Plastic Surgery where he piloted a study that analyzed the outcomes of mastopexy and reduction mammoplasty after radiation for breast conserving therapy,and Brigham and Women's Hospital's Divsion of Plastic Surgery, where he researched wound healing.
Michael Chin or Worcester, MA has reviewed and edited manuscripts for various medical journals, including Tissue Engineering, FASEB Journal, Burns, and Wound Repair and Regeneration. Michael received a prestigious award for his research with hyperspectral imaging assessment in irradiated breast cancer patients, in which he became an Instructor of Radiation Oncology and was granted a patent filing for an original method of radiation exposure recognition.
During his first year of residency, Michael was a manuscript reviewer for Burns and Wound Repair and Regeneration journals. He also began to co-investigate at the University of Massachusetts and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Outside of work, Michael Chin Worcester spends his time participating and teaching martial arts as a certified Systema instructor. Systema is a Russian martial art that combines multiple types of combat. Systema is Michael's personal favorite form of marital art because he views it as the perfect link between internal thought and practical application; however, he enjoys and appreciates all forms of martial arts and the benefits they provide.
