Currently, Dr. Michael Civin works as a clinical psychologist. More specifically, he is now a senior psychologist at a practice he co-founded in 2008, Rose Hill Psychological Services in the Bronx. He also operates a private practice in other parts of New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville, since 2007. Overall, Dr. Civin has been practicing medicine for more than 28 years.

His current private practice features Michael Civin, Ph.D. working in the field of psychodiagnostics, the branch of psychology that evaluates human behavior through the copious use of tests. He practices adult and adolescent psychology, as well as supervision and group psychology, also.

Even though his medical career has stretched across three decades, Dr. Michael A. Civin had to obtain a significant education to get there. He started by earning an A.B. degree cum laude in 1968 from Harvard in 1968 and attending the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968 and 1969. He then he earned his first M.A. in 1970 from the University of Oregon and a second one, in Clinical Psychology, from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. He became Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. in 1988 when he earned his doctoral medical degree from the same institution. In 1993, Adelphi also awarded him a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

Dr. Michael A. Civin has never ceased his pursuit of education in psychology. Over the years, he has spent a lot of time in the academic world, as a full professor, associate professor and as a faculty member in many institutions of higher learning. A great many of his scholarly articles have been published in medical journals and as chapters in very important books on psychology.
