Michael Cochenour
My name is Michael Cochenour and I am a first year undergraduate student at the Ohio State University. I am currently enrolled in the pre-Exercise Science major and I plan to pursue Psychology as a double major. After I complete my undergraduate studies, I hope to attend Physical Therapy school.
One of my top strengths was Achiever. I really think this stems from my high school academic career as well as my swimming career. I worked extremely hard throughout high school. I had achieved a 4.4 weighted GPA and I ranked 15 out of 406 students in my senior class. As for swimming, I was able to continually drop time over the four years on my team. I had also secured a spot on three state qualifying relays in my career, all of which had made finals and one made it to the podium. These are achievements I am extremely proud of. Each and every day, I need to achieve something in order to be satisfied. It could be something major or simply a stepping stone that will lead to something great. I feel as if my aptitude to achieve something everyday led me to those accomplishments. Achievements are what drive me to continue working.
The curriculum plan activities really helped me out when it was time to schedule my classes for the spring semester. During these classes, I learned how to read my degree audit, search for classes on BuckeyeLink, and use the schedule planner to make sure my classes would all fit together. This assignment helped me visualize what classes I'll be taking for the next few years, as well as really get a feel for what my major entails. I will use this assignment in the future to plan out my classes for each semester in the most effective way possible.
The time management activities have also helped me immensely when I look at my day-to-day activities. It was surprising to see how much free time I actually had after logging my activities for a week. Through this assignment, I learned about better ways to manage my time. Between school, studying, swimming, and social time, I always felt busy. Now, I can plan out my day effectively. Next semester, I plan to utilize time management in order to ensure I have enough study time for each of my classes.
