Michael enrolled at the University of Houston and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration. During college, he developed leadership skills through programs like LeadUH and Ignite Leadership while staying involved in the Golf Club of Houston.
After graduation, Michael became the general manager of Golden Corral in New Orleans, where he led 70 employees and managed local marketing. When Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, he evacuated to Houston. Still, he later returned to New Orleans to volunteer for nine months, working with the HandsOn New Orleans Volunteer Center. This experience introduced him to the insurance world, sparking his interest in the industry.
