Michael Cornish

My name is Mike Cornish and I’m a nerdy geek. Or perhaps I’m a geeky nerd? At any rate, I’m a student of accelerated learning (hence a nerd) and an avid gamer (hence a geek). I’m also the founder of Neeks and Gerds.

I started Neeks and Gerds with the hope of reaching those like me and helping them to realize how cool it is to be them. Geek culture is awesome. Having a desire to learn is certainly nothing to be ashamed of either. Among certain crowds, geeks and nerds are made fun of and viewed in a negative light. I want to encourage my peers to ignore the nay-sayers and to be proud of who they are and what they love. Don’t be afraid to say you love comic books. Shout it from the rooftops of Gotham City! Be proud of your love of multivariable calculus. Others will wish they understood half of what you study on a regular basis.

To put it simply, I’m a geek reaching out to other geeks and a nerd reaching out to other nerds.
