Michael Dadson earned a Ph.D. in counselling psychology from the University of British Columbia, where he specialized in PTSD recovery. He has a long history of treating first responders such as police, military, firemen, veterans and other first responders.

Dr. Dadson treats depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and provides individual and couples counselling.

Dr. Michael Dadson served on the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) Board of Directors from 2016-2018 and has been an active member of the Society, and has delivered workshops, symposiums, and papers at the Society’s annual conferences.

Michael Dadson has published several articles on the treatment and effects of trauma in academic journals and professional magazines. He has published 9 articles and presented over 40 papers, workshops, and posters at professional and community events.

Dr. Dadson served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, and as an advisor to the Centre for Group Counselling and Trauma from 2014 -2018.

Michael Dadson has a deep belief in the human capacity to find real-life resolutions to suffering, injuries and depression in their quest for growth and transformation. Research has shown that human growth happens best when individuals have access to authentic understanding, support, respect, and skilled therapeutic interventions. In session, Michael ‘takes the textbook off’ and becomes a human being drawing on skill and experience, to know and understand each unique person; where they are in the moment, who they are becoming, and what they are looking for.
