I’m Dr. Michael “Mike” Dadson, PhD, RCC #1467, CCC, Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor at Gentle Currents Therapy in Langley, British Columbia.

Jeanette Dadson and I share a longstanding vocation of care that guides Gentle Currents Therapy’s commitment to dignity, compassion and hope. Our team offers counselling and LENS neurofeedback, with care matched to individual needs and clinician expertise.
We also work to make counselling more accessible. Depending on your circumstances and current availability, options may include supervised graduate practicum counselling, reduced-fee appointments with experienced clinicians, or counselling at no fee in special circumstances. Gentle Currents Therapy
My clinical work focuses on trauma and PTSD, complex and relational trauma, dissociation, men’s mental health, relationship concerns, and operational stress injuries affecting veterans and first responders. I have maintained continuous practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 2000.
My approach draws on research, clinical experience, attachment and relational understanding, and the Sequential Trauma Narrative (STN), a trauma-informed clinical framework I developed. I also support clinician development through clinical supervision, teaching and mentoring.
I earned my PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia in 2013 and am a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). My previous roles include Adjunct Professor at UBC, advisory board service with UBC’s Centre for Group Counselling and Trauma from 2014 to 2018, and national executive and clinical leadership with the Veterans Transition Network.
