Michael Dalesandro
Michael was the co-founder and CEO of the social travel site Where I've Been. Founded in 2007 Michael successfully navigated and negotiated the sale of Where I've Been to Expedia (EXPE) in July 2011. Michael's many responsibilities as CEO of Where I've Been include leading the strategic direction, positioning, finances and business development of the company. Because of his obsessive bidding at a charity auction, Michael purchased a trip around the world and hasn't stopped traveling since. His favorite travel destinations include Istanbul, Florence & Bali. Michael is a career long entrepreneur who started in the financial & derivate space. He has funded & managed various companies including DRO|WST Trading, Victory Networks, M&R executions, The Point Derivative Fund & Blueye.com.
Dalesandro is also a consulting partner with Blueye Corp., the Chicago-based creative agency partially responsible for the success of the Where I've Been application. He funded the company five years ago to ensure that he would have a qualified creative resource for his other entrepreneurial endeavors.
Dalesandro is a principal in DRO|WST Trading which offers professional services for professional traders. DRO|WST Trading currently retains clients that cover derivative trading on over 90% of the S&P 500 names.
In 1995, Dalesandro merged with his current partner Mark Westcott in WST Trading. They grew the business over 300%. In 2000, a majority share of WST Trading was bought by Amsterdam Option Trading forming a new entity called AOT USA.
Formed in 2004, DRO|WST provides professional traders, hedge funds, and proprietary trading groups with resources in capital, technology, education and access to the derivative trading network.
Dalesandro earned a BA in Finance from Loyola University.
