When not reporting for the Upstart Business Journal, Michael works as the executive director of Literary Manhattan, a hodgepodge of young nutjobs dedicated to catching people on fire for learning using some tried-and-true techniques and more than one technological innovation.

He earned his BA from Mercer University, along the way excavating a Roman bathhouse with the American School of Archaeology. Plus, Michael provided security at Oxford University, where he also studied literature and philosophy. He earned his MS from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism while training for and running in the New York marathon.

Most recently, he is building Library Atlas with a team of equally nutty (amazing) human beings. Library Atlas, when it is finished, with send quotes to your phone as you approach where the quotes take place.
