Michael Dufresne is a Syracuse based musician who has had experience teaching, recording, and performing. He is a recent graduate of the Crane School of Music with a Bachelors degree in Music Performance. Michael is now pursuing a degree with a focus in studio recording by enrolling in the Audio Arts Masters program at Syracuse University. Michael has been able to use his knowledge as an intern at SubCat Studios in Syracuse, New York.

Aside from music production, Michael has found a passion in performing live in several genres of music. He has spent most of his life studying the art of classical saxophone, holding a degree in music performance with a concentration in saxophone. Michael has also spent time as a guitar player in jazz bands, pit orchestras, blues bands, jam bands, and classic rock bands. He has played with numerous bands in the Syracuse area, along with playing live shows throughout the state of New York. Michael also had the opportunity to travel to Cuba in 2017 to perform with the Crane Latin Ensemble. This involved live performances, workshops at the local college, and interacting with the local people to learn more about the culture.

Michael is the winner of the first annual KJ James Blues scholarship, the Crane Chamber Music competition, the Louis Armstrong Jazz award, and 3 New York State National Championship Marching Band titles.

Michael is currently working towards a career as a free-lance sound engineer, although one day he would like to open his own studio. He is an aspiring audiophile who has an interest in capturing the highest quality audio. Michael is also a student member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES).
