Michael Epifanio
Michael started his life journey in the kitchen of his grandfather’s neighborhood Italian restaurant Connie’s, in Richmond Hill Queens NY when he was 10 years old! Michael quickly adapted to the hectic pace of the restaurant business; by the time he was 13 years old he was running the kitchen! Customers thought it was so cute that a kid so young could cook so well- he made a lot of money in tips because of this! Michael continued his love of cooking and attended culinary school and received a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts. Michael opened his first restaurant in Forest Hills Queens (Italian Fusion), and a Gourmet Shop/High end Catering Company in Rockville Center Long Island. Michael no longer cooks professionally, but still loves to cook for family and friends- and occasionally caters big parties and weddings for free!
Presently Michael is the President of Veritas Search Consultants, Inc. an executive recruiting firm that specializes in Technology /Telecommunication Nonprofit Health, Financial Services and Biotechnology. Michael cites his success in the recruiting business back to his days of running his own restaurants; “I love people, and I love to make them happy; there is no greater satisfaction than seeing the smile of well fed customers; the recruiting business is no different you feed your customers great service/value and in the end they are absolutely satisfied.”
The most important part of my life is my faith and family. My journey of faith began when I was a child. I also had sense that there was a God, from a very early age. I used to make altars out of shoe boxes when I was 8 years old! I attended Catholic School St Mary Gates of Heaven in ozone park queens. I became an altar boy, sang in the choir and got is a lot of trouble with the nuns for playing stick ball in the school yard after hours! I remember while working at my grandfather’s restaurant, a lot of our customers happened to be Priests. Because I was so interested in spiritual things and finding God, I would bombard the Priests with questions about God! Through my teen years and now as an adult my life/spiritual journey is still a work in progress. My most recent venture is to create my own cooking show called " The Great Supper" and a Cook Book "The Cook Book Project- stay tuned for more developments.
