Hi, my name is Michael Farrell and I am currently studying Building and Construction Technology at UMass Amherst. I came about Building and Construction as a result of a summer job framing houses that I have maintained and continued to enjoy for four summers and two winters. I am also attempting to further my knowledge in the construction environment by working at Cowls Building Supply during the time I spend in Amherst, Ma. I have had a passion for construction since my first day of work, and I have been intrigued by climate change and the concept of sustainability since the day I first viewed "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. With this movie as an inspiration, I spent my 2014 Spring Break in New Orleans, Louisiana volunteering for the Epworth Foundation where I assisted in rebuilding a home damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
