Michael Faurest is the Principal of Brown Faurest. He is a financial professional that focuses on advanced life insurance planning and business succession strategies. Michael is an advisor member of the University of Louisville Family Business Center. With this background, it has helped prepare him to have difficult conversations with stakeholders of closely held businesses regarding the succession and exit planning of their business. Michael enjoys solving complex business and estate planning problems using life insurance. Michael routinely works alongside attorneys and CPAs to develop buy-sell plans that include life insurance as a funding source to provide a smooth and successful transition of a closely held business.

He also invests and renovates single family homes and multi-family properties. Michael has built a team of contractors that allow him to focus on the big picture while the contractors focus on the renovation and rehabbing of properties. Michael is active in the Kentucky Real Estate Investor Association and sits on two committees to help further the goals of the organization. Michael enjoys networking with all investors as well as other active real estate professionals.

Michael is a board member of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, and a Rotarian. He enjoys tennis, paddle tennis, golf, travel, and real estate.

Michael grew up in Louisville, KY where he attended Holy Trinity School and St. Xavier High School. He graduated from Indiana University where he majored in business. Michael spent twelve years in Chicago where he focused on sales and finance. He received his Masters of Business Administration from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. He attended the part time program while maintaining his employment in Chicago.

Michael and his wife, Maggie, live in Louisville, KY. They have twin sons and an awesome dog. They are members of Second Presbyterian Church and members of the Louisville Country Club.
