Michael Feetterer
Michael Feetterer presides over the McHenry County Drug Court as an Associate Judge. The specialized drug court is part of the larger 22nd Judicial Circuit of McHenry County and handles cases where drug treatment and counseling services are the preferred penalties. Mr. Feetterer holds additional responsibilities for the McHenry County court system regarding civil, criminal, and family law cases on an as-needed basis. Mr. Feetterer assumed this role in 2004 following a successful career as a lawyer operating in Illinois.
During the first phase of his career, Michael W. Feetterer worked as a partner in a legal firm and in his own private practice. Shortly after earning his Juris Doctor from DePaul College of Law in Chicago, Mr. Feetterer joined a firm in McHenry and practiced civil and criminal litigation for private clients while serving the public as a prosecutor for the villages of Spring Grove, Island Lake, Port Barrington, and Johnsburg.
Michael Feetterer next opened his own private practice in McHenry. In addition to managing the business side of the practice, Mr. Feetterer practiced civil litigation, criminal defense, real estate law, and family law. Equipped with the experience gained as a municipal attorney for the legal partnership, Mr. Feetterer served as the Village Attorney for McCullom Lake, Richmond, and Spring Grove and as the local prosecutor for Richmond, Spring Grove, Island Lake, Port Barrington, and Johnsburg.
Complementing his legal degree, Michael W. Feetterer earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago. An engaged citizen, he contributes to a charitable effort designed to combat ovarian cancer, donates to a local Christian radio station, and actively participates with his church. When not working or spending time with his children, Mr. Feetterer enjoys playing golf and chess.
