Michael Fehlings

Michael Fehlings serves in a variety of capacities at various hospitals throughout Toronto, Ontario. He currently holds hospital appointments with the Toronto Hospital, Western Division; Mount Sinai Hospital; the Toronto Hospital Department of Surgery; the Toronto Western Hospital Neurological Center; and University Health Network. He also previously held an appointment at the Lyndhurst Hospital/Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Fehlings has worked as a Co-Director of a Spinal Cord Clinic, Staff Surgeon, Head and Director of spinal programs, and Medical Director of the Krembil Neuroscience Program.
Michael Fehlings also fills a number of roles at universities. He operates as a Senior Scientist at the Toronto Western Research Institute and is on the faculty of the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies Institute of Medical Science. Dr. Fehlings further acts as Research Director of the University of Toronto's Division of Neurosurgery, Professor of the school's Department of Surgery, and Director of the University of Toronto Neuroscience Program. Moreover, he is a scientist at the McEwan Center for Regenerative Medicine and a McLaughlin Scholar with the R. Samuel McLaughlin Centre for Molecular Medicine.
Maintaining comprehensive licensure, Michael Fehlings has been certified by the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada, American College of Surgeons, American Heart Association, and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He also holds a General Medical License in the Province of Ontario and passed the Primary Written Exam with the American Board of Neurosurgery. Dr. Fehlings holds a PhD from the University of Toronto Institute of Medical Sciences and a medical degree from the same school's Faculty of Medicine, which he received summa cum laude.
