With all of the fanfare that you would expect to see when the crowned prince lays to rest his corn cob scepter and bejeweled fedora, the reigning King of Kenosha stepped down from his throne.
My 25 year reign as Mr. Kenosha came to a bittersweet close with my adoring wife and sister in the standing room only ampitheater. Why the former Eagle's Club only set out 25 chairs, I do not know. I'm sure that the bouncers would have been turning people away if it wasn't for the Mr. Kenosha Pageant competing with annual lakefront fisheree, Coho-Rama. After all, on that night, I was the only Big Fish that mattered.
Oh, yeah, this is About Me, not a blog entry sharing with everyone the greatest moment in SE Wisconsin History. I promise that at some not too distant post, I'll share the juicy details of the testosterone-filled pageantry of my youth. No detail shall be missed, not the man make up nor the 28" waist leather pants. But, for now, let's talk about the contemporary.
About Me:
Father to Nova and Barak, Husband to Stephanie, caretaker and friend to myriad of animals. I'm just a dad who loves his family, tries to tolerate the government (corruption, taxation, lies and bipartisanship) and deplores small minded pin heads. I am self-employed as a real estate agent, mortgage lender and self-storage operator. I think that the term self-employed is the kinder, nicer way to say "unemployable". After 15 years of not working for the establishment, could I really feign interest in my boss' son's girlfriend's parent's lakehouse party or pretend to not hear Mary's phone conversation about this weekend's Passion Party and not mention that waxing her Man-stache may be considered satisfactory foreplay?
I coach my children in school, sports and life as much as time permits. Quite evidently, I don't quite adhere to the social mores. I take pride in knowing that, "We are Lee's, we do not get embarrassed..." But, I know that my children and wife love me, they respect me and we enjoy our time together. And, because of all of that, I consider myself successful.
