A placemaking expert with a reputation for delivering high quality mixed-use urban (re)development projects, particularly food halls/public markets, retail, hospitality and entertainment. Experienced in all aspects of retail and restaurant development.

Prior to founding CANAdev, Michael Morris was a Partner at The Cordish Company, where he was integrally involved in the development & leasing of The Power & Light District in Kansas City, Seminole Paradise in Hollywood, FL, and 4th Street Live! an entertainment district in Louisville, KY.

Since leaving Cordish, Mike has been involved in entertainment-retail projects throughout the US — including Chicago’s Rosemont Entertainment District and Wichita Waterwalk — and ultimately established CANAdev in 2008. With CANAdev, Mike led the retail masterplanning and execution for District Detroit, including the new Little Caesars Arena and renovations to Comerica Ballpark. Mike has also served as Managing Partner at multiple restaurants in Maryland and DC.

Now specializing in placemaking, Mike leads CANAdev in masterplanning and developing projects in dozens of cities, including food halls in Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, DC, New York and more.

Michael graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Yale University, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in lacrosse. Michael is involved in fund raising for numerous charitable agencies and non-profit institutions.
