A financier and philanthropist with a wide range of professional and personal interests, Michael Gardner holds the position of Managing Member of Baytree Capital Associates, LLC, a multifaceted investment banking firm based in New York City. After graduating with honors from Brooklyn College, he served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Gardner launched a successful career in investment banking, building expertise in the areas of asset management, equity trading, and structured financing.
In 1990, Michael Gardner founded Baytree Capital, where today he handles financing for small- to mid-cap public firms in the United States and abroad, undertakes private equity transactions for promising ventures, provides asset management for high-net-worth individuals and families, and serves in an advisory capacity for various institutional clients. Among his present endeavors with the company, he nurtures relationships with technology innovators Goozex, Inc., Kiosk Solutions, Inc., and RAE Systems; manages real estate holdings for members of the Habsburg family; and finances Chinese gold and platinum jewelry manufacturer Kingold Jewelry Inc.
Aside from his professional undertakings, Michael Gardner maintains a busy schedule of philanthropic activity, most notably acting as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and producing sizable theater productions on Broadway and elsewhere. He also sits on the Boards of Trustees of Oklahoma City University and New York University Langone Medical Center, where he additionally serves on the Musculoskeletal Advisory Board of the Hospital for Joint Diseases.
