A strong educational background in Photography and an impressive apprenticeship in fashion photography with the Iconic photographer Francesco Scavullo in New York City, Michael came up to Canada and landed a permanent Freelance photojournalist job at the Toronto Star in 1976 and later adding, MacLean’s Magazine (numerous covers & spreads) and UPI wire service coverage for all Toronto Blue Jays games and also a regular contributor with numerous other news services, news publications.
In 1979, Michael opened a profitable photo studio to pursue a commercial photography career in fashion, advertising, and the music industry.

Accomplishments: over 40 Record album covers with major labels, CBS Records, EPIC Records Canada, RCA Records, A&M Records, WEA, Attic Records, Falcon Records, just to name a few along with tons of emerging Bands for photo sessions. Not to mention being nominated twice for a Juno in the Album Graphics division, A CHEER Award from the Black Music Assoc. as well as Numerous Major Advertising campaigns, (Short List); Howick Jeans, Sun Tours, Eaton’s Center, Kaiser Pantyhose, Phantom Hosiery, Sears Ads and Catalogs, SEARS CLING ALON packaging. Vicker's & Bensen Retail Advertising Agency etc..
