Chancellor Michael Harris utilized his experiences, skills, leadership, public policy and a global perspective to lead IU Kokomo transformation. During Chancellor Michael Harris tenure IU Kokomo experienced an unprecedented 67 year record history in student enrollment, implemented 15 new degree programs, increased campus online courses, all-time record fundraising, Inspire Power campaign, he initiated the intercollegiate athletic program and led to join the NAIA. He led record fundraising resulting in a new nursing simulation lab, welcome center, new media digital center, next generation classroom, campus beautification, Haven auditorium renovation, and the construction of Milt & Jean Cole Family Wellness and Fitness Center. During his tenure, IUK was ranked by U.S. News & World Report for the first time. Chancellor Michael Harris was recognized by the Kokomo Perspective as Person of the Year. He led and collaborated in achieving Regional Transformation and was Recognized a finalist for UEDA Leadership award. He was appointed by Governor Daniels to the Indiana Automotive Advisory Council (IAC). Dr. Michael Harris was Recognized Honorary Commander of Grissom Air Base. Dr. Michael Harris was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kettering University (GMI). He earned a B.A. in economics and Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University, M.A. in public policy from Tel Aviv University and PhD in public policy from SPEA Indiana University. Dr. Harris completed leadership seminars at Harvard University Institute for Higher Education. He participated at the Public Policy Round Table at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. Professor Harris is the author of 5 books and 40 refereed articles.
