Michael Hince is a wine writer, historian and public speaker who also hosts wine appreciation classes.

Known as the ‘velvety voice of vino’, he hosted Australia’s premier national wine program Heard it Through the Grapevine on 1179 AM Vision Australia Radio Melbourne. The program aired weekly from 2010 to 2020 to over 1.5 million listeners via the Community Radio Network.

In another life Michael was also a restaurant and wine reviewer, a Gault& Millau inspector and contributor to the Age, The Age Good Food Guide, the Weekly Times, Business Review Weekly and the Herald Sun.

He has edited a number of wine magazines, including the Wine and Spirit Review, and is a former Managing Editor of The Epicurean magazine.

Michael has been a guest speaker the Melbourne Cricket Club’s Long Room Wine and Food Society and, most recently, was the keynote speaker at the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club’s 70th Anniversary National Convention in Adelaide.

He also hosts regular wine appreciation classes at one of Melbourne’s premier, independent retailers, Armadale Cellars.
