Michael Hora

Real-English Workshops and Teacher Training in Japan

Armed with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in TESOL from Columbia University Teachers College Tokyo, and an Ed.M. in TESOL and Applied Linguistics from Columbia University Teachers College New York, Michael has been teaching and facilitating English language programs at Japan's leading schools, universities, and companies since 1996.

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, and after an early retirement from playing in punk rock bands, and 'starring' on the Nickelodeon kids' TV cult classic "You Can't Do That on Television," Michael spent a decade tree-planting, backpacking, reading, meditating, eating, boxing, gold-mining, and language-learning across Europe, Czech Republic, North America, and Thailand before choosing Japan, where he has called home for the past 30 years.

When not teaching/teacher-training, facilitating workshops, and motivational-speaking, Michael spends his time on the Shonan coast surfing, Japanese-relaxation-culturing, and whenever possible, Keeping the ESL Dream Alive! across Japan, China, the Interwebs, and beyond.
