Michael Jacobs

Writer, Filmmaker, and Artist in New York

As Chief Digital Officer/CCO for Voyr, Michael is responsible for a precedent setting, privately held, digital entertainment platform that connects real fans with true icons. Following a successful beta launch with Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne tour, he is currently engaged in building intellectual property in the areas of live streaming, mobile, gaming, interactive video, and social media, and integrating these properties with major brands.

Prior to Voyr, Michael was Executive Vice President/Executive Creative Director for McCann Worldgroup's digital flagship office (MRM). While at Worldgroup, he led the creative effort on the U.S. Army, Intel, Diageo, MasterCard, Nikon, Exxon Mobil, General Mills, Lunesta, General Motors and Verizon accounts. In less than 5 years, Michael led the transformation of MRM into an award winning agency and one of the top five global digital networks. His experience ranges from leading global brand engagements across EMEA, LATAM and APAC to building a digital "Dreamworks" studio for agile development, rapid prototyping, 3D rendering, CGI, gaming and app development across media platforms. He has also built a nearshoring operation in Argentina.

Over the course of his career, Michael has worked in nearly every major vertical. His pro bono efforts for Roots of Peace, a global de-mining effort, were featured on National Public Radio and ABC and cited as a milestone in Public Private Partnerships by Kofi Annan. He's created award winning work that's been recognized by The Jay Chiat Awards, The One Show, Cannes Lions, London International Awards, Effies, New York Festivals, Mixx, FWA and Webbys.

Michael holds a BA with honors from Bard College and an MS in Journalism from Boston University. His work for Nikon was featured in Allen Adamson's book, Brand Digital, and he'll be featured in Advertising 2020, a book authored by the Wharton School. He has also been named an Executive member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. In his free time, he aspires to channel Miles Davis on a Martin Committee trumpet with a Harmon mute.
