I am on sabbatical, enjoying the life of an Appalachian Trail section hiker and trail repair volunteer. My interests are in the evolution of human society driven by the worldwide demographic transition to long productive lives and reduced family size, by the rapid dismantling of communication barriers and delays, and by the commodification of medical care.
