"Music can change the world, because it can change people."- Bono

Piano playing was not my first love. I never had the chance to study it up until I entered the conservatory. Growing up as a choir boy, I was more exposed to choral music and choral singing over piano music. We would often play with the piano and explore what monophonic pop melodies we can play in widow. I eventually enjoyed playing and it help improved my listening skill that is why I decided to study it on my own. After years of contemplation, I entered the Conservatory to further hone my skills and eventually become a skilled music educator in the future. Even before studying at the conservatory, I began teaching children rudiments and singing. Having no formal teaching on solo singing, I held on to the choral approach in singing. But here I proved the quote that goes “In teaching, we learn.” I discovered many techniques and pedagogical approaches that are effective in teaching children music in a very enjoyable way.

For almost 2 decades of staying here in Project 8, I was not able to encounter any music school studio around, while knowing some musically inclined children and teens who are very much willing to learn. This calling to become an educator is the driving force in me that tells me that I must share this gift from God to other people and help them become the musicians that they envision themselves to be. The rewarding moment as an educator is to see your students be successful in their field and be able to pass the knowledge forward to the next great musicians of the future.
