Michael Kretschmer

Michael is currently the Mechanical Engineer at Avid Labs, a product design company. He possesses a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an A.S. in Avionics Systems Technology, and the academic equivalent of a B.A. in Philosophy. This education, combined with his experience in mechanical engineering, aerospace research, avionics systems maintenance, and aviation electronics manufacturing has provided him with the tools to form a proficient integration of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and leadership knowledge and expertise needed for the successful development of robust system design and the effective performance of operational leadership. With a career focus in mechanical/aerospace engineering research and development, he has proven to bring effective and successful solutions to the table.

His passion for engineering and design doesn't stop when he leaves work. His evenings and weekends generally find him woodworking in his shop. Blessed with an amazing wife who is his best friend, he also takes pride in an accomplished military career, having served 6 years in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics systems technician. Separating at the rank of Staff Sergeant, he was with a global defense, security and aerospace company and interned at the NASA Glenn Research Center.
