My name is Michaella Young. I was born and raised in Bradford Ontario in May 1997. I grew up with a younger brother. My parents raised us in a very athletic household. Both my brother and I played sports for as long as I can remember. Volleyball and rugby were my go to sports all my life. I always had a passion for sciences and physical activity. Throughout high school I was invited back to my elementary school to coach their sport teams such as rugby, flag football, and volleyball. Physical activity is one of the best outlets, that any student with any abilities can learn and grow from. As I got older, I had many placements and job opportunities involving the life skills and special abilities parts of both high schools and elementary schools. Eventually, I began working both one on one, as well as group programs for children/ young adults with mental and physical disabilities. This began to kick start my passion for education. In high school I began working as a lifeguard and swim instructor for my home town. There I attended many clinics and developed many skills to further my education specifically related to teaching and special abilities. Between school, work, and sports I was always a busy bee. Later, I moved to Sudbury Ontario to attend Laurentian University for Sport and Physical Education, and Concurrent Education in the junior/ intermediate stream. Everything since that point has solidified my passion and love for teaching and coaching, allowing myself to create a positive impact on another’s life.
