Michael LaValle
From his private practice in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Michael R. LaValle has provided psychotherapy to children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families for the past 21 years. Specializing in depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, and sexual abuse recovery, Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. treats patients using a variety of different methods. The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis certified Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. in using clinical hypnosis as a treatment option. Additionally, Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. received Level I and Level II training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), the most thoroughly researched treatment for trauma. Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. has also completed basic and advanced training in DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy), which addresses psychological disorders resulting from unmet childhood needs. Dr. LaValle also employs and teaches mindfulness-based stress-reduction and Centering Prayer practices. Prior to opening his own clinical practice, Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. earned his doctoral degree from the University of Dallas. He has served several the in-patient adolescent units at Terrell State Hospital, Brookhaven (now Dedman) Memorial Hospital, and Willowbrook Psychiatric Hospital. Connected to his profession, Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. sits on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Greater Dallas and has belonged to the American Psychological Association, the North Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the Association of Transpersonal Psychology, and the Dallas Psychological Association. Residing in Dallas, Texas, Michael R. LaValle, Ph.D. is married and has two children.
