Michael Luna

A longtime California resident, Jawbone chief technology officer (CTO) Michael Luna graduated from Troy High School in the Los Angeles suburb of Fullerton before receiving technical on-the-job training as an enlisted serviceman in the United States Navy and an apprentice under the chief engineer of Beckman Instruments. His apprenticeship at Beckman Instruments consisted of extensive one-on-one instruction in subjects that ranged from real-time and multi-processor system design to control system synthesis and chemical analysis. Michael Luna also studied advanced math and physics at Beckman Instruments.
After leaving Beckman as a senior engineer in 1985, Mr. Luna held a series of technical and executive positions with the Physio-Control Corporation, AT&T Wireless Services and SBC Technology Resources, 724 Solutions, Openwave Systems, and Seven Networks. He first joined the Jawbone team as a board advisor in 2007. His current CTO position places him in charge of both long-term technical strategic planning and ongoing research.
