Michael Mace Rocky Mountain College

Before Michael Mace accepted an appointment in January of 2005 to serve as President of Rocky Mountain College, he had a successful record in the financial industry. With more than 33 years of executive management expertise, Mr. Mace drew upon his experience in revenue growth, executive and academic team facilitation, morale boosting, and proven problem solving skills to bring the struggling four-year liberal arts school to its feet.

Michael Mace directs Mace Holdings, LLP, his private investment firm. In his operations at Mace Holdings, He has participated in numerous successful endeavors, including previous work as a general contractor in land and housing development, as a former Montana real estate broker, and as a for profit board member of Coal Black Liquids, LLC, coal conversion enterprise. He also serves as a consultant for domestic and foreign export services through his company, Michael R. Mace dba Mutual Trade Service, licensed since 1988.

Before his tenure at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, from 1989 until 2005, Mr. Mace served as Founding Partner at Sterling Acceptance Corporation and D&M Industries, a privately held asset holding company in Fargo, North Dakota. As Chief Executive Officer, he built strategic relationships with national brands, while increasing inventory turns and decreasing inventory costs. Michael Mace's duties included leading the company's daily operations with its investments in emerging middle-market manufacturing, construction, and distribution firms.

With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in accounting and finance, from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mr. Mace studied at the Carlson Graduate School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. By-invitation-only, the MBA curriculum is designed for senior-level executives of Fortune 500 companies or those expected to promote to such positions. In 2011, Michael Mace attended Harvard Graduate School of Education, Institutional Educational Management program.
