Michael Mandl

With considerable experience in administrative leadership roles for institutions of higher education, Michael Mandl currently serves Atlanta's Emory University, where he holds the position of Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. Since 2003, Mike Mandl has acted on behalf of the school's President to handle enterprise-wide aspects of its fiscal and administrative programs and policies, which collectively amount to an annual budget of more than $4 billion. Michael Mandl also serves several board of trustee committees, including those concerning finance, real estate, facilities, and audit, among others.

Since joining Emory, Mike Mandl has amassed a number of achievements. Under Emory's leadership, the university's enterprise risk management program earned distinction for maintaining best practices among postsecondary schools. Moreover, Moody's Investors Service, Inc., declared that Emory's financial management added significant credit strength for the university. Michael Mandl additionally spearheaded a number of collaborations with public and private groups that resulted in the construction of graduate housing units, as well as residences for staff and faculty, retail spaces, and mixed-use properties on land owned by the school. Mandl's other accomplishments include leading the monetizing of a proprietary drug to treat the human immunodeficiency virus worth $525 million and taking the lead on the Campus Master Plan, which included the construction of over 15 new facilities during the last decade.

Outside of these professional obligations, Michael Mandl has held a seat on the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA Board and the Fernbank Museum Board. Mike Mandl also belongs to the Atlanta Midtown Alliance Board's Executive Committee. Mandl also serves on the Emory Healthcare Board of Directors and the Emory Innovations, Inc., Board. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from The George Washington University and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Duke University.
